Aims & Objectives

DCHI is committed to supporting the membership in developing the profession of the Home Inspector (HI) and Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) to both consumer and industry.

Representing the Members’ view

DCHI will promote the membership and represent them to concerned parties such as Professional Bodies, Pack Providers, Insurance Providers, Government Departments, providing a strong forum to convey the views and needs of the membership of the DCHI.

Information

DCHI will provide key information on developments within the industry to its members and be the primary point for information. It will raise the awareness of the benefits of the Home Condition Report and Energy Performance Certificate through the roles of the HI and DEA to the consumer.

DCHI will provide an ‘open forum’ where the members have a vehicle to openly discuss related topics within a structured and informed environment.

Education

DCHI will fully support members with Life Long Learning and their Continual Professional Development.

Promotion

DCHI will develop local partnerships with key sector bodies encouraging initiatives where there are common objectives. Promoting the recognition of the registered Home Inspector and Accredited Energy Assessor delivering excellence of service combined with fees that are proportionate to the members training knowledge and risk.

Industry Links

DCHI will establish links with the industry suppliers of services and products, negotiating preferential levels of service and cost, for the benefit of the membership.

Web Site

DCHI will provide on its Web Site a directory of members allowing both consumer and industry to locate HI & DEA members within the DCHI geographical area, and inform of the members’ qualification and skill levels. The Web site will continue to develop incorporating the needs of the members and of industry.
